Don’t you just LOVE Vintage Wedding Gowns and florals?

Weddings should be fabulous and fairytale like. Speaking of fairytales, who wouldn’t want to go with the “Old is Gold” theme? Vintage/retro styles are still considered hot! You may think old great granny looked bad, but take a good look at those old wedding photographs again, please. Those were the styles back then. And the arrangements were quite good. Now how about getting the best of both eras? To just copy the old fashion would not make much of sense. I would not want to just lift a fashionable gown out of yesteryear fashion magazine and get my tailor do it for me or just buy one that apes the exact vintage cut. What would really be nice is if we can merge few techniques of sewing or embossing here and there and in a good way see it all come up as something new. This is what we are doing with sketching. I personally do not have access to bridal magazines from the retro era and I do not like to Google up for ideas. I am thinking of new ways to turn and twist styles by reading how the gowns were. With no family photographs to refer to I am blindly mixing up few styles of gown trends just by reading some real good books and watching movies. Hope to post those sketches soon. Anyways, This sketch was done few days back when I was up one night startled by a nightmare. I love wedding florals, so here is Brand Olishna wedding illustration and this one is for the headgears!

XOXO.

Planning a Christian wedding is a matter of a big expense. Exciting yet hectic efforts are put in to make a fairytale marriage possible -the gowns, the rings, the menu arrangements, bridal shower, theme party, the live band performance, and the shopping list keeps extending every time as the big day gets closer…the satin draperies, the white roses, bachelorette party, hair and makeup, accessories, jewels, accurate shoes perfect with the gown that fit the budget and style preferences. While the men need mainly the tuxedo to get worried about, women need to cut open their purse big time. Additional, to make sure the fashion statement and the sentiments rising that big day are carried along for a lifetime as memory, there is always that special photographer who will capture the moment with the scenic design marking the moment of joy. So it is all about a grand celebration. But also about picking the right trend, maintaining the budget limit and preparing yourself to be more than happy. A number of brides-to-be are opting for perky gown styles, making bold changes reflecting the style of the ceremony and even thinking economical. Tiaras and veils are giving way to more creative head gears that are low priced. Proper alterations for bride and bridesmaid wear keep adding to the expenses. While every girl wants designer gowns, some may not find them affordable. A local boutique or dress-maker may be hired to create runway styles, or the accessories and gowns maybe bought from one bridal store on discounts or during sale.
